The King’s Cup Final will be remembered by many things such as it has been played at Camp Nou, the first goal of Leo Messi is from another galaxy, the incredible whistling, but we will also remember by the previous lunch at Txoko Euskalzaleak with 50 members of PGB.
The txoko is a private gastronomic place in Basque Country where the men meet to cook and to eat together; for this reason some years ago the same tradition was set up in Barcelona with this txoko called Euskalzaleak.
Furthermore, this lunch has been about basque cooking with “xistorra”, typical vegetables from Navarra garden and as the main course a wonderful “marmitako”, very tasty and succulent.
Thanking to Iñaki Lz. De Viñaspre, member of the PGB, but also member of this Txoko and owner of well known Sagardi group, and his colleagues from the txoko we could enjoy this fantastic lunch with a very good atmosphere.
They cooked for us as it is tradition in all the “txokos” and it has been an unbelievable experience.
The PGB shared this lunch with important guests such as the former player of 70’ Hugo “Cholo” Sotil and also the president of the “Agrupació Barça Jugadors” Ramon Alfonseda.
Our president Pere Duran welcomed them with very kind words and even delivered an apron of our association to Hugo “Cholo” Sotil.
Vilarnau celler offered their wihte and red wines with 100% xarel.lo the first one and 100% cabernet sauvignon the second one.
Also an excellent cava Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2009, great Vilarnau!
We were also delighted with typical basque wine called “txakolí”.
Obviously, there was the traditional pool and there were 4 memebers who won the bet to say 3-1 score; the winners have been Flavia, Ramon Alfonseda, Toni Alsina and Joan Manel Recio.
Barça has won the final with a fantastic match and his 27th King’s Cup, now all the supporters are awaiting the “Champions League” final on Saturday in Berlin against Juve.
Visca Barça and Gastronomy!!!
