Thirteen journalists enjoyed a spectacular meal and the mythical desserts of the restaurant managed by the Roca brothers

Penya Gastronòmica Barça decided to reserve several haute cuisine events and the best way to start –23 January 2015- was at the restaurant of the Roca brothers. Joan, Josep, Jordi and the whole team prepared a table for 12 members.  During the meal, we talked about Barça and the latest news.  It was a real pleasure to try each of the dishes, which were described to us in detail by the restaurant staff.

The importance of El Celler de Can Roca is such that the same day, the brother and chef, Joan, was participating in a dinner on the subject of leadership and culture and a discussion about food as a medicine at the World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland).

The Roca brothers’ passion for Barça was evident in the last part of the menu, with the mythical desserts “Messi’s Goal”, withdrawn from the menu two years ago. The whole table enjoyed the memorable experience of tasting this creation by Jordi Roca while listening to the broadcast by Joaquim Maria Puyal relating the marathon goal scored by the Argentine against Getafe in April 2007.

At the end of the meal, the members visited the spectacular restaurant winery with its five areas (Champagne, Borgogne, Reisling, Priorat and Xérès) accompanied by Josep. We then gave the three brothers a gift of an apron from Penya Gastronòmica Barça. Although Joan Roca was not present, Alexandra Rivas –a member of this team- agreed to put it on.

A memorable meeting.  Long live gastronomy and long live Barça!
