Due to their dual passion for Barça and gastronomy, many celebrities attended the presentation of our group, including FC Barcelona directors such as Xavier Faus and Jordi Cardoner

Penya Gastronòmica Barça was officially presented last 17 November, in the best possible setting. A host of celebrities gathered in the VIP lounge and on the pitch of the Nou Camp, united by their two passions: Barça and gastronomy. Many articles were published in the press about this singular event, which was attended by the Club’s vice-presidents, Xavier Faus and Jordi Cardoner, and the director Pau Vilanova, all three of whom are members of this new official FC Barcelona supporters group.

All the members of the group’s Management Board attended in this public presentation.  Its president, Pere Duran, ex-General Manager of Turisme de Barcelona, was accompanied by the vice-presidents Jordi Basté, Director of the programme El món a RAC1, Miguel Rico, Assistant Director of Mundo Deportivo, and Josep Vilella, gourmet and owner of the restaurant La Venta.

Some of the most respected names in the Catalan gastronomic sector, such as Josep Roca, from Celler de Can Roca, selected as the best restaurant in 2013; Carles Gaig, from the Barcelona-based restaurant Gaig, which has 1 Michelin star; Josep Monje, from the restaurant Via Véneto, which also has one Michelin star, or Juli Soler, former joint owner of El Bulli with Ferran Adrià, who did not want to miss the opening.

Well-known people from the football and gastronomy sectors were also present at the event, including the football player representatives Josep Maria Minguella and Josep Maria Orobitg.

The guests enjoyed the delicious menu prepared by the Catalan gastronomy associations Cuina de la Ràpita, Cuina de l’Empordanet, La Cuina a Sils and Osona Cuina, which included prawns from la Ràpita with tartar sauce and hand-harvested sea salt from the Delta, casseroled Pals rice or meatballs with cuttlefish and peas and roast pork chops with garnish, in a truly delicious sensorial experience.
